A N T I
The narrative of this project is drawn from an article I read in a local newspaper. A carer was found guilty of stealing a credit card that belonged to the man who she is supposed to look after. What intrigued me about this article was who it was and what they did with what they stole. Usually, people would disappear after they stole but the carer went on a shopping spree at high street stores. This raised a number of questions: Who would do that? Why did she spend so much? What caused her to do so? Is it something she can control? Something from her past? Or is she rebelling against something?
Nevertheless, the design proposal works within the themes of facades and consumerism to spatially propose a new space within Nehla’s home. This new space is where she will keep the many artefacts from her second life.
